Marjorie Post is versatile artist working in more than one medium. Her passion in life has always been to create, whether it be with paint, pencils, fabric or fibers.
Past achievements have been to have owned a yarn/knit shop where she did custom designing of fashion garments that she then taught her clients to create for themselves.
Drawing and painting, primarily colored pencil has been a successful pursuit, with work published in books by Rockport Publishers of Rockport, ME and prints published by Geme’ Art for sales in Europe. Her works, mostly floral, but occasionally animals as well, have been shown in solo and combined shows in galleries and venues throughout Oregon. Many of her works are in private collections.
Current work includes hand-dyed fabrics, silk paintings, and art quilts. Her art quilt patterns have sold across the U.S and into Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K.
Marjorie currently teaches art quilting and on a volunteer basis, traditional quilting at the women’s prison in Wilsonville, Oregon. |
