Originally from the northeastern US, Carol Van Zandt is currently based in San Francisco. An exhibiting contemporary fine artist for many years, Carol is thrilled to now be creating collections for fabric and licensing her art and design.
Trained in both the U.S. and Asia, she holds a BA in Studio Art from Boston College and studied further at Massachusetts College of Art and Rhode Island School of Design.
Carol’s specialties include contemporary designs inspired by Japanese sumi painting and calligraphy, fusing her western fine art education with ten years of study with Japanese calligraphy and sumi painting masters, both in the US and during the seven years she lived in Japan and Taiwan.
Carol trained and is certified in textile design at The California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkeley, California, where she is also currently a workshop instructor.
She has had numerous solo and group shows in America, Japan, and Taiwan. Her fine art is in private collections in over 15 countries in Europe, Asia and America.
