About Mary Engelbreit

Nearly 35 years ago, Mary Engelbreit launched her own greeting card company with a line of just 12 cards. Today, Mary is the head of a highly successful business bearing her name, and is considered the country’s premier designer and artist of lifestyle products. Her signature art appears on thousands of products, including books (design, gift, children’s, cooking, home, and art), calendars, stationery, greeting cards (whose sales exceed 5 million cards a year), fabric, crafts, kitchen accessories and other home décor items. Her style is more widely recognized than that of any other contemporary illustrator. Mary's illustrations and selected quotations have changed the lives of countless fans the world over. Her unique point of view and style infuse her home and studio with the same charm, wit and enchanting designs that have made her products so popular.

From the handmade greeting cards she sold at her local drugstore in high school to internationally licensed products, according to PEOPLE magazine, Mary's "signature style has become as recognizable as the work of Norman Rockwell.” The licensed products bearing Mary’s artwork has grown to include nearly 6,500 products in all, with more than $1 billion in lifetime retail sales. These products produce over 200 million brand impressions annually, and Mary’s fan base is near 100,000 and growing. The Mary Engelbreit brand has been awarded the prestigious LIMA “Art License of the Year” on three occasions, and her art has earned the Greeting Card Association’s LOUIE Award celebrating the best in greeting cards. The real Mary Engelbreit is much like her work: whimsical, nostalgic, playful, optimistic and more than a tad bit irreverent. Mary draws on her personal experiences as wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to capture in her art those magic moments of daily life. Mary was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where she currently lives with her family. Learn more about Mary at www.maryengelbreit.com.
